ZiraatBank BH d.d. was granted the right to operate and provide banking services in Bosnia and Herzegovina in 1996, and in March 1997 it started its work in Sarajevo as the first bank in Bosnia and Herzegovina with foreign capital.

Important dates of business activities of Turkish Ziraat Bank Bosnia dd:

  • 1996 - October
    Turkish ZiraatBank BH d.d. was granted the right by the Banking Agency to operate and provide all banking services in Bosnia and Herzegovina in 1996.
  • 1997 - March
    Turkish Ziraat Bank Bosnia dd started its work in Sarajevo as the first bank in Bosnia and Herzegovina founded with foreign capital. Share capital of the bank is DM 10,000,000
  • 1997 - August
    The Bank became a member of BAMCARD Sarajevo.
  • 1998 - August
    The Bank acceded to and gained membership of SWIFT group, the largest global network for financial transactions.
  • 1999 - January
    The Bank opened a second and new branch in Sarajevo.
  • 1999 - February
    The Bank gained VISA license for issuance and acceptance of VISA international card.
  • 1999 - April
    The Bank gained Eurocard and Mastercard license for issuance and acceptance of international EC&MC cards.
  • 1999 - November
    The Bank is issuing VISA credit cards, the first Bosnian-Herzegovinian charge chard, which made the Bank a pioneer in the country.
  • 2000 - February
    Upon decision of the Assembly of the Bank, the profit from the year 1999 was transferred to reserve fund which additionally strengthened the stability of the Bank and capital power in financial market.
  • 2000 - February
    The Bank increases its capital to BAM 25,000,000 by means of a cash injection of BAM 15,000,000 thus making the Bank one of the largest in domestic banking sector.
  • 2000 - May
    The Bank gained membership of Western Union group. This enables its clients to send money in BAM, EUR or USD in a fast and safe manner.
  • 2000 - August
    The Bank issued a first Maestro card in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
  • 2001 - October
    Turkish Ziraat Bank Bosnia dd was among the first banks to meet the requirements of the Agency for Deposit Insurance which guarantees deposits of up to BAM 5,000.
  • 2001 - March
    Upon decision of the Assembly of the Bank, profit from the year 2000 was transferred to reserve fund which additionally strengthened the stability of the Bank and capital power in financial market.
  • 2002 - February
    The Bank expanded its business network and opened a third branch in Sarajevo – Butmir
  • 2002 - April
    According to the report of independent auditors, the Bank became the number one bank in BiH regarding profitability per worker in 2001.
  • 2002 - July

  • 2002 - November
    The Bank started issuing debit Maestro card in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
  • 2003 - January
    Besides classic banking, Turkish Ziraat Bank Bosnia dd also offers electronic banking which enables direct access to accounts 24 hours a day.
  • 2003 - June
    Upon decision of the Assembly of the Bank, profit from the year 2002 was transferred to reserve funds which additionally strengthened the stability of the Bank and capital power in financial market.
  • 2004 - March
    The Bank expanded its business network and opened a new branch in Tuzla.
  • 2004 - May
    Upon decision of the Assembly of the Bank, profit from the year 2003 was transferred to reserve fund which additionally strengthened the stability of the Bank and capital power in financial market. The capital is BAM 50,000,000.
  • 2004 - June
    The Bank opened its new branch in Zenica.
  • 2004 - September
    Turkish Ziraat Bank Bosnia dd was the first bank in Bosnia and Herzegovina to provide services of CALL CENTER.
  • 2005 - March
    The Bank opened its new branch in Ilidža.
  • 2005 - July
    The Bank opened its new branch in Mostar.
  • 2005 - December
    The Bank opened its new branch in Bihać.
  • 2006-June
    First Chip credit card.
  • 2007 - December
    Capital increased to BAM 60,000,000.
